How to upgrade from Unc0ver jailbreak to Taurine jailbreak

taurine-jailbreak

A new jailbreak tool Taurine for iOS 14 – iOS 14.3 was released last week. Unc0ver jailbreak also supports these versions of the system, but the Taurine tool has some advantages. Below we will tell you how to switch to the Taurine tool if you already have the Unc0ver jailbreak.

Taurine vs. Unc0ver

Taurine and Unc0ver tools support the same devices with the same iOS versions. This is iOS 14 – iOS 14.3 on all supported devices, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPad Pro 2020 and iPad Air 2020. The main difference is the different tweak managers.

Sileo vs. Cydia

Cydia’s tweak manager has stopped being actively updated and has a lot of problems. Cydia used to be the best tweak app, but now it isn’t. Sileo is a much better Cydia alternative. The application has a better interface, it works faster, etc.

Another problem with Unc0ver jailbreak is that it doesn’t work perfectly. It takes a long time to install, and it can also cause applications to crash and sudden reboots.

Taurine tool uses libhooker to install tweaks and Unc0ver uses Substitute. Both work, but the libhooker method has an advantage. It provides more control. You can turn tweaks on and off for web pages, customize SpringBoard, and more. All this with the “libhooker configurator” application.

In addition, Libhooker does not conflict with apps like Snapchat, Uber, etc.

How to switch from jailbreak Unc0ver to Taurine

The transition process is pretty straightforward. Plus, it will keep all your tweaks as you go.

Step 1: Using Zebra’s tweak manager, export the list of your installed tweaks to your iPhone with the Unc0ver jailbreak. You can download the Zebra Tweak Manager from here.

Step 2: Launch the Unc0ver app on the iPhone and select the settings tab. Scroll down and click Restore RootFS. Then select the Reset All option. This will restore RootFS to its original state. You will essentially remove the jailbreak from your iPhone.

Step 3: Now just install the Taurine jailbreak on your device.

Step 4: When done, use the Sileo app to reinstall all your tweaks. You will have to do this manually, but all your settings will be transferred automatically. This is why we exported the list of tweaks at the beginning.

You have successfully migrated from Unc0ver jailbreak to Taurine jailbreak! Now you can read about the best tweaks for iOS 14.
